The result is a 104,000 square foot expanse with four floors of space dedicated to performance, recovery, education, and research. The William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center is comprised of three centers of distinction including: 1. The Center for Tactical and Occupational Performance, 2. The Center for Active Individuals with Physical Disabilities, and 3. The Center for Human Health and Performance in Extreme Environments. This one-of-a-kind partnership houses a 150-person lecture hall, four classrooms, nine instructional labs, seven research labs, and a two-lane 60 meter sprint track.

Because this project lends such a unique, multi-disciplinary approach to human health and performance, we asked Craig Elder, PhD, AT, CSCS and Sports Medicine Coordinator at the William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center how they plan to utilize the equipment and products purchased from PHS Medical for performance, recovery, education and research.

"Our clinicians love the Hi-Lo option and the multiple supported positions, which minimize the need for bolsters. The arm drop away feature is especially nice, allowing the athlete to stay positioned on the center of the table while treating either shoulder."

"We picked the classroom tables because they had the ability to convert from a desktop to a treatment table top. We also liked having cubbies for students to store items in while using them as a treatment table. We also liked that we could get the table on casters so that our classroom can transition to a variety of set ups. We are pleased with the product with one wish…that the pads would stay on the hooks better…but overall that is minor. They are so sturdy!"

"These tables are fantastic for our recovery room. PHS Medical worked with us to motorize the back of table so athletes could self adjust."

"The DOC Decompression table is a very sophisticated looking modality that adds great functionality with the ability to provide lumbar flexion/extension and/or side bending for optional positioning during treatment."

"These tables provide great covered storage for linens, which is a requirement in hospital based outpatient PT setting."

During the design and building process, the William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center considered the following factors to purchase tables and equipment from PHS Medical:

  • product features such as split leg/arm design, power tilt, Hi-Lo elevation, and optimal storage
  • high-quality craftsmanship
