The William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center was created based on a multi-disciplinary and highly collaborative approach between the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Centura Health to help athletes perform better and recover faster.
Photo by William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center The result is a 104,000 square foot expanse with four floors of space dedicated to performance, recovery, education, and research. The William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center is comprised of three centers of distinction including: 1. The Center for Tactical and Occupational Performance, 2. The Center for Active Individuals with Physical Disabilities, and 3. The Center for Human Health and Performance in Extreme Environments. This one-of-a-kind partnership houses a 150-person lecture hall, four classrooms, nine instructional labs, seven research labs, and a two-lane 60 meter sprint track. Because this project lends such a unique, multi-disciplinary approach to human health and performance, we asked Craig Elder, PhD, AT, CSCS and Sports Medicine Coordinator at the William J. Hybl Sports Medicine and Performance Center how they plan to utilize the equipment and products purchased from PHS Medical for performance, recovery, education and research.
